Instant End Table Repurpose

How A Little Old End Table Solved A Storage Problem

Ever have one of those moments when a solution to a little problem comes to you out of nowhere? I had one yesterday. I love when that happens, don't you? I am a very easily distracted person, so I'd better tell you how this idea came to me before I get distracted. Again. ;)

Decoupaged File Box

Hey guys!

A while back I posted this tutorial for decoupage, and I am not sure what happened, but the post disappeared from my list in Blogger. I could have inadvertantly hit the delete button, who knows? Any way, I'm going to try re-posting it from memory. (We'll see how that goes!) This is my first attempt at decoupage, which I have always wanted to try.
I guess it's not much different from collage, is it?

Quick Fix: Make a Loop to Hang Up Your Hair Tools

Hi Everybody,

Today I have another quick fix to share with you.

My hair dryer has a handy loop on it so that I can hang it up and keep it
off the vanity counter while I am putting on my face in the morning.

This is where I keep my face.
(Shhh, don't tell anyone).

Shoebox Labels

Organize Your Craft Room Inexpensively With Clear Shoeboxes

Hi There Everybody!

Woohoo, the sun is out! That's a big deal if any of you have
been experiencing one of the gloomiest winters ever, as we have up here in
Central Alberta. Right now though, we are in our second week of brilliant sunshine
and my little girlies couldn't be happier! Check out their snowball feet.

Under Sink Re-Organizing

Quick and Cheap Organizing For Under The Sink

Hi Everyone!

I saw a post on Hometalk about a week ago, and was immediately inspired and
motivated to follow this lady's lead. She covered the area under her kitchen
sink with vinyl wallpaper and re-organized it. Wallpaper and I are not friends, so I opted to use stick-on tiles instead. The next time we were in Edmonton we went straight to the Home Depot and bought a package of commercial grade tiles ($35). I wanted to have enough for under the kitchen sink and the two bathroom vanities.

Handy Notepad From Scrap Paper

Hi All,

I'm very excited today, because we have had above zero weather for two weeks now, and ONLY have four months of winter left! It has been crazy cold here this year, minus 25 to minus 40. Yikes! I'm itching to be outdoors building something, anything! Soon, soon...

Anyway, I was searching for a piece of paper last night to jot down a phone number,

Sturdy Cereal Box Organizers

Making Drawer Organizers For Mr. M. & Me

Mr. M.'s desk drawers are a nightmare, they really are. Kind of like my sewing
room, and when I hear him grumbling from behing the door
(along with a bit of colorful vocab), I feel his pain.
I have been doing some organizing and decluttering in my areas, and I
thought it was high time he reaped the benefits of my amazing talent for
building cereal box drawer dividers. Below is my ever-growing collection.

TENSION ROD ORGANIZER

Good Morning Everyone!

Would you like to know a super quick and easy way to create a spot for organization?
Here is a little tip using a tension rod and curtain rings.

I was rooting through my front closet a few weeks before Christmas looking for something. I don't even remember what it was now, because I got distracted when I stumbled across an old tension rod we were using in the bathroom before we installed the permanent one. This happens all the time. It's a wonder anything gets accomplished around here.

How To Build a Crate for Fifty Cents

Conquering The Mess One Crate At A Time
 or
How To Build a Crate for Fifty Cents

There is a little storage issue in our house. It is appropriately named Val's-sewing-room-is-the-catch-all for-anything-with-no-home.  A while back I purchased an Ikea expedit to display pretty objects, but a recent and dangerous walk through my sewing/craft room convinced the practical me to turn my expedit into a storage solution.

Storage Bin on Wheels

Build A Simple Storage Bin

Hi Everyone,

I'm starting to organize my sewing/painting/art supplies storage.  The paints have to be brought in every winter. Don't think 40 below would agree with them
I buy lots of my paints in larger pots and I might as well admit it, lots of paints period,
so large sturdy storage is a must.

Garage Storage: Look up!

Finding Storage Space In Your Garage

Build a garage, accumulate stuff, park the car outside the garage.
It's so easy to let that happen, isn't it? Our garage is overflowing, and winter
is not kind to vehicles up here in Alberta. There was valuable real estate going
to waste up near the ceiling in our garage. I just had to figure out how to build
some shelves that wouldn't interfere with our rolling chrome racks, so I sat down
with my notepad (if I tried the plans in Sketchup, you would likely never see this
post!), and here is what I dreamed up.

Build Some Quick Closet Shelves

Hi Everyone,
I recently went to visit my younger sister for a few days.  I love going there! We always have a good time and she cooks some amazing gourmet meals (she's a chef)! Anyway, she was badly in need of some extra storage in her guest room closet.

Sew-in Pockets For Basket Liners

Basket Liner Pockets:
Getting Organized a Little at a Time
We will be doing a few renovations on our bedroom closet in the near future.
But right now there's a little job I have to do in there before it drives me crazy.
My get-ready-for-the-day basket is a mess . Grrrr
For some reason today is the day I decided enough was enough.
I'm going to sew some little pockets around the inside so it's easier to sort through.
Time to get organized!
Here's how the basket looked before the pockets:

Build Some Little Pallet Drawers

Little Pallet Drawers
These little drawers are my answer to needing baskets for storage on a wall shelf I made for the bathroom.  They were inspired by Ana White's pallet storage boxes plan.
